Aaron Blabey has pretty much done it all in the arts in Australia. Mainly known as an actor until the last few years when he has started to write children’s books. He is very popular with young audiences and critics alike, often nominated for awards and he has also had his books as National Simultaneous Storytime subjects a few times now.
This book is about sharing. Blabey usually has a moral to his stories, as most children’s books do, and he usually has a twist to it as well. Pig the Pug is essentially about a dog who won’t share with another dog. He gets his just desserts and of course, it has a happy ending.
Quirky images and humorous lines make this a loveable story and a possible winner, if history has anything to say for it.
Amusing and satisfying.
